And the rains came

The sky turned gray
the air cooled
the pitter-patter of droplets echoed
off the tin a/c unit outside

The anxiety-ridden folks smile
this gloom
is a comfort

The pluviophile finds joy
peace of mind
in the tranquil, clear beads

The clouds loomed overhead
and the rains came
gentle at first
then a torrent of serenity

Aggression disappeared
the world slows
a walk outside settles the turmoil within

The sounds of water
caressing the cheek
gently kissing skin
look up
and feel it all
