I’ve been thinking a lot about this post<\/a> from Reddit last week and thought I would share as I feel kind of voiceless right now about a lot of things. It states a lot of the things I’m thinking right now.<\/p>\n

I’m seeing a lot of arguments being made against an abortion ban as if the forced birth, Bible-thumper crowd give a singular shit about logic:<\/p>\n

Abortion access reduces abortion.<\/p>\n

THEY DON’T CARE.<\/em><\/p>\n

The Bible only gives instructions on how to perform an abortion.<\/p>\n

THEY DON’T CARE.<\/em><\/p>\n

Ectopic pregnancies can’t be saved.<\/p>\n

THEY DON’T CARE.<\/em><\/p>\n

It’s hypocritical to care about the unborn and abandon them as soon as they’re born due to lack of funding for financial assistance programs.<\/p>\n

THEY DON’T CARE<\/em><\/p>\n

Third trimester abortions are rare and almost always for medical reasons.<\/p>\n

THEY DON’T CARE.<\/em><\/p>\n

Jesus never mentioned abortions.<\/p>\n

THEY DON’T CARE.<\/em><\/p>\n

You don’t even read your own Bible.<\/p>\n

THEY DON’T CARE<\/em><\/p>\n

This will kill more women.<\/p>\n

THEY DON’T CARE.<\/em><\/p>\n

This will force children into poverty, into families that don’t want them.<\/p>\n

They. Don’t. FUCKING. CARE.<\/h1>\n

This is has never been about logic. This has never been about debate. It’s about control by whatever means necessary. While well-meaning people voice their arguments against the hell we’re seeing unfold, these zealots continue to embolden themselves and position themselves to strike just like they have been for decades leading up to this moment.<\/p>\n

I don’t have a good solution at this point other than burning shit down in a rage. I feel like playing nice and trying to be civil is what has led us to our current situation. I’m not sure any recourse will work at this point other than beating these people into submission and into the shadows. Maybe I’m wrong. Maybe we can fix this some other way, but I’m losing hope.<\/p>\n

I don’t have a solution right now either. I genuinely don’t care what your beliefs are, but they don’t belong in government, my home, or my uterus.<\/p>\n

When they come for Griswold, and Obergefell, and Lawrence, and Loving please don’t act surprised. They’re already taking Casey with Roe. It may sound like hyperbole, but I see a version of the Fugitive Slave laws coming back as fugitive abortion laws. I was told to stop being hyperbolic about Roe v. Wade going away, too.
